Change Document Template

Change Document Template

This will affect the entire document and adjust all formatting.

  1. While viewing the document, open the Project widget
  2. Select the three dots to the right of the project title
  3. Select Settings
  4. Open the Current Document's Template drop-down
  5. Select the desired template
  6. Select Done
    1. If there is content in the document, it will ask if you want to confirm the template change.
    2. Select Apply Template
      1. We suggest refreshing the page twice to ensure formatting has been properly applied to the whole document.

  1. Select Format > Document Template > Default Templates
  2. Select the desired template
    1. If there is content in the document, it will ask if you want to confirm the template change.
    2. Select Apply Template
      1. We suggest refreshing the page twice to ensure formatting has been properly applied to the whole document.

OR

  1. Select Customize > Misc
  2. Next to Document Type, open the drop-down
  3. Select the desired template
    1. If there is content in the document, it will ask if you want to confirm the template change.
    2. Select Apply Template
      1. We suggest refreshing the page twice to ensure formatting has been properly applied to the whole document.

Create Your Own Template - Pro Feature

This will save any formatting changes you have made, so you can use this template again and again. To customize your formatting, see the articles in Format.

  1. After you have customized the document's formatting, select Format > Document Template > Export Template
  2. Select the desired option:
    1. Formatting Only will export only the formatting
    2. Include Content will include all of the content in the doc
  3. The template will save to your device as a .wdt file
    1. In the Browser app, it will save to your downloads as: [Project Title].wdt
    2. In the Desktop app, you can select the save-to location and the title for the file.

Apply Your Own Template - Pro Feature

  1. Open the project/document you wish to apply the template to.
  2. Select Format > Document Template > Apply Template
    1. If you have content, it will ask you to confirm this action
    2. Select Continue
  3. Select Choose File
  4. Select the file from its saved location on your device
  5. The template will be applied to the document.
