Customize Page Settings

Page settings

In this menu, you will be able to create Headers and Footers, number lines, and set your spacing and page splitting preferences.

To access these settings, go to Customize > Page.


Headers and Footers

Here you can create a custom header and footer for your document. To learn more about the header and footer options, see Headers & Footers.


Numbering

Page numbers
  • Show page numbers - Enable by default, this will display the page number in the top right corner of the page of the document you are currently viewing
  • Show page 1 number - Disable by default, this will display a page number on the first page of the document you are currently viewing
Line Type

Here you can turn on numbering for any line type. To learn more about line numbering, see Enabling/Disabling Line Numbering

Number Margin

Adjust the number margin as necessary. Select Reset to set the margins back to default.


Misc

Scene Separator

By default, this is a dash that appears between scene and sub-locations in scene headings.

Default Page Size

This will assign the page size for any document you create.

  • US Letter - 8.5 in x 11 in
  • A4 - 210 mm x 287 mm
Document Page Size

This will assign the page size for the document you are currently viewing. 

  • US Letter - 8.5 in x 11 in
  • A4 - 210 mm x 287 mm
Line Spacing

This will adjust the amount of space between lines for the entire document. To change the spacing for a specific line type see Line Spacing.

  • Tighter - Space between lines of the same type will be as close as possible to still be legible
  • Tight - Space between lines of the same type will be as closer than usual
  • Normal - By default, space between lines of the same type will be normal
  • Loose - Space between lines of the same type will be greater
  • Looser - Space between lines of the same type will be significantly greater
Page Splitting
  • Split dialogue - Enabled by default, this will allow dialogue to be split at a page break to allow for the most efficient use of space. 
  • Split action lines - Enabled by default, this will allow action to be split at a page break to allow for the most efficient use of space. 
  • Split at sentences - Enable by default, this will ensure that splitting only occurs after the end of a sentence.
  • Optimize splitting - Disabled by default, when encountering a page break this will prevent orphaned line types and will split dialogue over three lines across the page break. 
Splitting Options

To help provide clarity for the reader when a line of dialogue has been interrupted for some reason, MORES & CONT'D is used. To learn more about this feature, see Mores & Continueds.
